Fawlty Towers: The Complete Set VHS - English - Movies Unlimited
Monty Python's John Cleese was never in funnier fettle than
as Basil Fawlty, the short-tempered, sardonic manager of a
less-than-successful resort hotel, in this beloved BBC TV series.
Connie Booth, Prunella Scales and Andrew Sachs co-star. All four
fabulously funny "Fawlty Towers" tapes are available in this
special boxed set that's cheaper than a weekend in Torquay. Each
three-episode tape features a special behind-the-scenes interview
with Cleese and runs about 90 min. They can also be purchased
separately as...
- Fawlty Towers: Communications Problems - Anxious to hide his racetrack winnings from wife Sybil, Fawlty entrusts the money to the less-than-trustworthy Major in "Communication Problems," and Basil's plans for "The Anniversary" surprise party blow up in his face. Then, Manuel the waiter's "filigree Siberian hamster" is anything but in "Basil the Rat."
- Fawlty Towers: Gourmet Night - The guests on "Gourmet Night" are in for some unique dishes when Basil must fill in for a drunken chef. Fawlty further has his hands full satisfying an American visitor's request for "Waldorf Salad" and hiding the body of a deceased guest in "The Kipper and the Corpse."
- Fawlty Towers: Hotel Inspectors - Basil tries to put on his best front to impress the "Hotel Inspectors." Then, Fawlty believes that a visiting nobleman will give the Towers a "Touch of Class" and does his best funny-walking Hitler impression in order to appease "The Germans."
- Fawlty Towers: The Builders - The hotel lobby gets a complete makeover - and winds up a door or two short - after Fawlty instructs "The Builders." And his belief that maid Polly's newlywed friends are shacking up disrupts "The Wedding Party." Then, Basil bemuses "The Psychiatrist" with his obsession to prove a guest is smuggling in ladies.
