Elisabeth Achelis, a leader in the calendar reform movement, recommended The World Calendar in many publications, including her book The Calendar for the Modern Age (1959). This calendar consists of four quarters, each containing one month of 31 days and two months of 30 days. An extra day, a world holiday known as Worldsday and denoted by December W, follows December 30; it is not part of the Sunday, Monday, Tuesday... sequence, thus allowing every year (and every quarter) to begin on Sunday. In similar fashion, Leapyear Day (a world holiday known as June W) follows June 30 in leap years.
